Farmers Links

Programmes & Services

Seven programmes that put the constitution to work in the field.

This is the day-to-day work the Association carries out for a paid-up member — under a tree at a training circle, out in the field, at the market, and at the forums where farmers' interests are argued. Each programme answers a specific line of the constitution's mandate.

Training, technical help, markets, finance, advocacy, resources, and a member record.

Training & knowledge

Training on a needs basis, not a set syllabus.

Training shaped around what members actually need, led by resource persons and organisations who know the work — practical skills in better farming methods and modern technology you can put to use on your own land.

Technical assistance

Better technique, higher yield.

Technical assistance and better production methods that help farms modernise and grow toward the market — practical support that lifts what a farm produces, season after season.

Market access & linkages

Buyers beyond the farm gate.

Finding buyers for members' produce at home and across borders — connecting farmers straight to businesses, arranging cross-border learning visits, and bringing international experts and support agencies out to meet members.

Every programme here works toward one outcome — improving farmers' incomes and livelihoods, and strengthening the rural economy.

What It's For

A large gathering of Farmers Links members with mountains behind

Representation & advocacy

One voice for every Province.

The Association carries members' interests into the rooms where farming decisions are made — the forums it joins or is invited to, and meetings with partners across the sector — and defends members' rights as they work their land.

Financial linkages

Affordable finance, within a farmer's reach.

The Association gets members investment-ready and opens the door to affordable capital — working with partners to channel low-cost funding to members, so a shortage of finance stops being the thing that holds a farm back.

Increased productivity

Capital to invest in better inputs, tools, and methods — and grow what the same land yields.

Access to markets

Finance to meet larger orders and reach the buyers beyond the farm gate.

Value addition

Backing to process and add value, so members keep more of what their produce is worth.

Two things that hold the rest together

Resources, found when members need them

The Association raises resources and support for the priorities members set for themselves — putting weight behind the plans that would otherwise stall for want of funding or materials.

A single record of who belongs

The Association builds and keeps one database of its members — a countable record of who belongs, and in which Province, across all ten Provinces of Zambia.
